Guitar Reading Accidentals

Now we will learn how to read accidentals in music notation.

Here is an example of what an accidental looks like:



This note would be called G-sharp and is equivalent to the note one fret above G.

Guitar Playing Accidentals

The notes you have learned to play so far in position 1 are called Naturals.

The blank spaces in between these notes are called Accidentals.

Guitar Position 1 Review

Now that we have learned all the notes in the first position on the guitar, we will review what we have learned.

Here is an overview of the first position.


Minor 6ths Guitar Playing By Name

In this lesson, you will be asked to play Minor 6ths on your instrument.

A Minor 6th on the guitar looks like this:

If it crosses over the break, we add one fret and it looks like the picture below.
