An octave is the distance from one note to the next note of the same name.
For example, from C to the next C on the keyboard would be an octave.
It is called an “octave” because in the same way that an octopus has 8 legs, an octave is equal to moving 8 degrees in the scale.
Octaves are very important in music because when played together the two notes sound almost identical.
